To register to vote in the Regina municipal election, here's what you need to know:
Eligibility:
Age: Must be at least 18 years old on election day.
Citizenship: Must be a Canadian citizen.
Residency: Must have lived in Regina for at least three consecutive months before election day and in Saskatchewan for at least six consecutive months before election day.
How to Register:
For your convenience, register for both elections at once! Voters can register or update their information on the Elections Saskatchewan website for both the Municipal/School Board Election and the Provincial Election. Being registered ahead of time makes voting faster! Eligible voters can also register in-person at a poll during the election.
If you voted in the last provincial Election, you are already registered in our system. Please ensure your address is accurate and email is updated at the link below to receive your voting details electronically.
Register online by October 8. After October 8, voters will need to fill out a registration form and submit it to the Elections Regina office by email, mail, fax or in person, or simply bring it when voting at the polls.
Regular Polls: On Election Day, November 13, Regular Polls will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. The City will be offering free transit on Election Day.
Advance Polls: Anyone can vote early at Advanced Polls. Advanced Polls take place November 1, 2, 3 and 4. Learn more about Advanced Poll locations throughout the city. A drive-through polling station will also be available at City Hall, November 1-4.
Mobile Polls (Vote in Residence): Voters who are unable to visit a polling station due to disability or limited mobility can apply to have a representative come to them to cast their vote. Mobile Polls take place Friday, November 1 to Wednesday, November 13. The deadline to apply is Tuesday, October 22.
Special Polls: Voters in hospitals, senior centres or special care facilities are able to take advantage of our Special Polls stations.
Mail-in Ballots: All eligible voters have the option to apply to mail in their ballot. Voters can now apply online or by email, mail, fax or in person at the Election Office Ballots must be received at the Elections Regina Office before 8 p.m. on Election Day in order to be counted.
